The Compliance Organization at KIT

Overview Compliance at KIT

Code of Conduct

The KIT Code of Conduct / Verhaltenskodex summarizes the values and ethical standards of KIT and establishes a framework for respectful and dignified cooperation and responsible use of natural resources.

It spans from the guidelines for ethical principles to the essential general external and internal regulations that are the foundation for rule-compliant behavior at KIT. The Code of Conduct is a vade mecum and thus enables KIT members and external partners to orient their behavior to the value system of KIT.

University Compliance Network

The University Compliance Network (HCoN), initiated in 2022, is an association of stakeholders in the field of compliance and integrity at universities, universities of applied sciences and non-university research institutions. There are now 44 educational and research institutions from Germany, Austria and Switzerland represented in the network (as of October 2025).

The network offers the opportunity to discuss current developments and challenges and utilise synergies - even across borders. The aim is to discuss and further develop the topic of compliance in the context of science and research in a comprehensive and profitable manner.

Regular nationwide network meetings provide an opportunity for a productive exchange of experiences. In addition, various working groups deal specifically with practical issues throughout the year. The results obtained are communicated within the network.

KIT has been actively involved in the network since 2022!

The network lives from the participants! Point out the network and become part of it yourself: https://www.hochschulcompliance.de/
